Returns & Exchanges

Because bits are placed inside the horse’s mouth, we cannot accept returns once a bit has been removed from its packaging or used. This policy is in place for hygiene, safety, and the well-being of all horses.

Defective or Damaged Bits

We are happy to assist with returns for items that arrive defective or damaged.
• All returned items will be inspected before a refund or replacement is issued.
• Please notify us within 7 days of delivery if your item arrives damaged.

Wrong Size or Not the Right Fit

Used bits cannot be returned if the incorrect size or model was purchased.
• If you are unsure what your horse needs, please reach out before purchasing — we’re here to guide you.
• We strongly recommend working with a certified bit fitter to ensure the correct size and the best possible outcome for you and your horse.

If You Simply Don't Like the Bit

We do not offer refunds for bits that were opened or used but simply did not work out.
This is why we highly encourage:
• Scheduling a session with a bit fitter, or
• Contacting us for personalized guidance before purchasing.

How Will My Order Ship

We use USPS, UPS, and FedEx. You will be able to select your preferred shipping method at checkout.

Will I Receive Tracking Information

Yes! As soon as your order ships, you will receive an email with tracking details.

Do You Offer International Shipping

We currently ship within the United States and Canada. Customers are responsible for any duties, customs charges, or import taxes.

Returns & Exchanges:

Can I Return a Bit If It Has Been Opened or Used

No. Because bits go inside the horse’s mouth, we cannot accept returns for any bit that has been removed from its packaging or used — even once. This is for safety, hygiene, and quality assurance.

What If I Ordered the Wrong Size or Mouthpiece

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns for used bits, even if the wrong size or style was ordered.
If you are unsure what your horse needs, please contact us before purchasing — we are always happy to help.

What If My Bit Arrives Damaged or Defective

If your item arrives damaged or defective, please contact us within 7 days of delivery.
We will inspect the returned item and issue a refund or replacement if the damage is confirmed.

What If My Horse Doesn't Like the Bit

We do not offer refunds for opened or used bits that simply didn’t work out.
For this reason, we strongly recommend:

  • Meeting with a certified bit fitter, or
  • Reaching out to us for guidance before buying

We want you and your horse to have the best possible outcome from your purchase.

Do You Offer a Bit Trial Program

We work with the TryMyBits Trial Program to allow riders to test specific bits before committing.

  • Each trial bit is $20 + postage
  • Trial fees are non-refundable
  • Trial bits must be returned according to the guidelines included in your kit

How do I start a return for a damaged item?

Email us at info@nsbitsusa.com with your order number and a photo of the issue. We’ll take it from there.

Can I exchange a bit instead of returning it?

No. We do not accept exchanges.
This includes exchanging for a different size, mouthpiece, or cheek style.

How long does it take to receive a refund?

Once we inspect and approve a damaged-item return, refunds typically process within 5–7 business days.
